The safety of all visitors, especially younger ones, is of paramount
importance to Nick. Children should always ask the permission
of a parent or teacher before sending any personal information
to anyone online. This is particularly important when participating
in chatrooms, on discussion boards and in e-mail correspondence.
There are no discussion boards or chat rooms on Nick's site.
Outside of Nick's website service you can
never be 100% sure who it is you are conversing with. Therefore,
when online, children should never tell anyone their full name,
their age or address as this may be misused by the person it
is sent to or forwarded to any number of other people on the
Internet. Guidelines suggest that children under 16 years of
age should not submit any information to any website without
the consent of a teacher, parent or carer.
Nick will be producing a Safe Surfing Guide
for Young People on this site
All work submitted to this site will be credited
to the pupil and a copyright notice will be posted with it.
Any photographs submitted to the site will
carry a comment on the children's activities, but no names will
appear. Nick must respect the wishes of a majority of parents
who do not wish their children's names to appear along side photographs.
