After an introduction,
the children watched and discussed a short extract from a video.
The pupils
then went onto practise and perform a series of role-plays.
At the end
of each role-play they identified the different types of bullying
that took
place and suggested what could be done to stop the bullies.

Performing The Roleplays
"This
is a little play about a boy called James,
who is walking through a park. Shane is a much bigger boy.
The two boys cross paths. Shane slouches with his hands in his
pockets."
"David
is on a bus going to school. He is upstairs.
Another girl and boy get on and sit behind him."
"Clive
is on the playground. He is on his own.
He is playing with a ball. He approached by three others."
"Kenny
and Mike are hanging around on the playground.
Robin tries to get on to the playground. There is a teacher on
duty."
"Dale
and Penny are on the playground.
Morris is playing on his own."
"This
is story about two girls,
Debbie and Claire. Debbie is on a swing in the playground.
Debbie swings and is approached by an Claire (a bigger girl)."
This is a
play about Peter who is walking to school
and two other
boys Darren and Jimmy.
Peter walks
with his lunchbox. Darren and come up behind him.
This is a
play about Trevor who goes to meet a friend at an adventure playground.
Tommy and
Rob are waithing by the entrance.
Trevor walk
onto the adventure playground. He is stopped by Tommy and Rob.

Performing Our Own Roleplays
Narrator: Two bullies named Billy and Liam
walks into the park,
stopping a boy in his tracks.
Billy: "Where do you think you're going,
Sean?"
Sean: "I'm going on the swing."
Liam: "Not without paying us you're
not."
Sean: "What do you mean?"
Billy: "Don't start back chatting, just
pay up."
Sean: "But I haven't any money."
Narrator: Billy tips Sean upside-down and
steals his Pokemon cards
as they fall out of his pocket.
Liam: "If you tell anyone you know what
will happen?"
Narrator: Lewis comes walking along.
Lewis: "What are you doing to that boy?"
Narrator: Billy and Liam run off, but Lewis
shouts to them.
Lewis: "Don't you dare run away from
me.
What have you been doing to this boy?"
Billy: "We have taken some of his things."
Lewis: "Give them him back."
Liam: "Here, Sean."
Sean: "Thanks."
Lewis: "I will be keeping a close watch
on you boys
and I don't want to see you doing anything
like this again."
Narrator: Billy and Liam run away.
Narrator: Louise and Siobhan are walking
down the street on a cold,
dark night, when suddenly three figures approach
them.
Hannah: "Pay up time, you two."
Hayley: "Yeah! Where's our money?"
L + S: "We haven't got any."
Hayley: "Well, you'll have to cough
up double tomorrow."
Hannah: "Now, now, don't tell."
Adam: "You remember what happened the
last time.
We don't want that to happen again do we
now?"
Narrator: The three figures stride off into
the distance. Louise and
Siobhan stay rooted to the spot.
Louise: "What shall we do?"
Siobhan: "We must tell someone."
Louise: "NO! They told us not to."
Siobhan: "Who cares what they say, I'm
telling."
Narrator: Early the next morning, Louise
and Siobhan
are blocked by the bullies.
PC Percy: "Aye, aye, what going on here
then?"
Adam: "Oh err nothing officer.
Siobhan: "Last night they tried to take
our money."
Louise: "And now they are doing it again."
Hannah: "What on Earth are you on about?
PC Percy: "Come on, station, now!"
H+H+A: "From that day on we learnt our
lesson.
Narrator: Fred is walking to the toilet when,
he is stopped by two
larger boys.
Fred: "Excuse me, can I get through
please?"
Buff: "Give us a quid and you can."
Fred: "Don't be stupid!"
Stevie: "Give us the cash or you'll
get a royal flush."
Narrator: They let Fred into the toilet,
however he comes out
with a wet head.
Ranjit: "What happened to you?"
Fred: "I've just had my head flushed
down the toilet."
Narrator: Fred and Ranjit walk past Mrs.
Attitude.
Mrs. A: "Fred, what has happened to
you?"
Ranjit: "He's just had a royal flush,
Miss"
Mrs. A: "Who by?"
Fred: "Buff and Stevie, Miss.
Narrator: Mrs. Attitude goes to find Buff
and Stevie.
Mrs. A: "Buff and Stevie you will apologies
to Fred."
B + S: "Sorry!"
Mrs. A: "You will be suspended for two
weeks."
Narrator: Buff and Stevie learned their lesson
and
Fred was free from Bullying.
Narrator: Emma is approached by Rocky, Carlos
and Buffy.
Rocky: "Oi! Hand over your money!"
Emma: "Why?"
Carlos: "Because, I'll stab you with
this."
Narrator: Carlos pulls out a sharp compass.
Buffy: "Well then ?"
Emma: "Okay! Okay! I'll hand over the
money."
Rocky: "We'll see you tomorrow. Be on
time!"
Narrator: Carlos, Rocky and Buffy run off.
Mrs. Hubble: "Emma, is everything alright?"
Emma: "Yes, Miss."
Narrator: Mrs. Hubble walks away suspiciously.
The next day
Emma meets the bullies again.
Carlos: "Well done, you made it on time.
Now hand over the cash!"
Narrator: Emma takes £3 out of her
pocket.
Rocky: "Now that was easy, wasn't it?"
Narrator: Emma runs away. She bumps into
Mrs. Hubble.
Mrs. H: "Are you sure everything is
okay?"
Emma: "Yes well, no miss. Rocky,
Carlos and Buffy
were bullying me.
Mrs. H: Rocky! Carlos! Buffy! Could you come
to my office now!
Narrator: Christel is walking around the
playground and
is suddenly approached by three tall boys.
Scott: "Come on minger, play with us."
Bob: "You don't want to play on your
own."
Christel: "No thank you."
Shane: "You've got to or else."
[He shows a fist]
Narrator: The three boys fight with Christel.
The bell rings.
Christel goes inside.
Ms. Moon: "Are you alright Christel?
You look like you've
seen a ghost."
Christel: "Yes miss, I'm alright."
Ms. Moon: "Well you know if anything
is bothering you, you can
come to me."
Narrator: The next day at school.
Scott: "I'm surprised you can to school
today."
Bob: "Have you got any money today?"
Shane: "Hand it over then!"
Christel: "Stay away from me!"
Narrator: Christel leaves the boys with a
look of shock on their faces.
