The pupils
practised and performed a series of role-plays.
At the end
of each role-play they identified the different types of bullying
that took
place and suggested what could be done to stop the bullies.
"This
is a little play about a boy called James,
who is walking through a park. Shane is a much bigger boy.
The two boys cross paths.
Shane slouches with his hands in his pockets."
"This
is story about two girls,
Debbie and Claire. Debbie is on a swing in the playground.
Debbie swings and is approached by an Claire (a bigger girl)."
"This
is a play about Peter,
who is walking to school and two other boys, Darren and Jimmy.
Peter walks with his lunch box. Darren and Jimmy come up behind
him."
"Clive
is on the playground. He is on his own.
He is playing with a ball. He approached by three others."
"David
is on a bus going to school. He is upstairs.
Another girl and boy get on and sit behind him."
"Jenny
and Mike are hanging around on the playground.
Robin tries to get on to the playground. There is a teacher on
duty."
"This
is a play about Trevor who goes to meet a friend at an adventure
playground. Tanya and Rachel are waiting by the entrance. Trevor
walks onto the adventure playground. He is stopped by Tanya and
Rachel."
The pupils
then went onto write and perform their own role-plays.
